Radha Adhar Joins the Searchlight Institute as Senior Fellow

Washington, DC – Radha Adhar, who previously served as Special Assistant to the President for Senate Affairs, is joining the Searchlight Institute as a senior fellow covering environmental and climate policy.

During the Biden administration, Radha led engagement between the White House and key Senators and Senate committees with jurisdiction over environmental and climate issues. She served as Legislative Director at the White House Council on Environmental Quality and earlier as Deputy Associate Administrator for Congressional Affairs at the Environmental Protection Agency.

“Radha brings a wealth of experience in serving at the highest rungs of the federal government and shaping the nation’s largest climate and infrastructure initiatives,” said Adam Jentleson, president of the Searchlight Institute. “She understands the urgent need to find practical answers to our greatest environmental and climate challenges. We are building a home for leaders like Radha as she looks ahead, finds answers, and helps chart a real path to progress.”

Radha has spent nearly two decades working on advancing practical environmental solutions that deliver real benefits to rural, urban, tribal, and suburban communities. She was a senior policy adviser to Senator Tammy Duckworth and an adviser to the Department of Energy’s Jobs Strategy Council.

Radha hails from Wilmington, North Carolina. She is a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and Johns Hopkins University.
